What this tool helps with
Many publishing forms enforce word or character limits, but editors do not always show the same counting rules.
How to use it
- Paste or type text into the editor.
- Review words, characters, characters without spaces, paragraphs, and estimated reading time.
Requirements
A modern browser with JavaScript enabled.
Limits and privacy
Words are estimated using Unicode-aware whitespace boundaries. Reading time uses an approximate 200 words per minute and is only a planning aid. Inputs are processed locally in this browser. The site does not provide an upload endpoint for this tool.
